SILENT P.R.I.D.E.

Promoting Responsible Independent Deaf Enrichment SILENT PRIDE is a group dedicated to supporting, strengthening and serving Metro-Atlanta's deaf children and their parents. Deaf students from around the region meet for social and enrichment activities, allowing them to expand their circle of friends and to engage in a variety of programs.
SILENT PRIDE is based in Gwinnett County and is open to all Metro-Atlanta deaf teens. The purpoes is to create opportunities for deaf children that encourage positive personal development, self-confidence and self-esteem. SILENT PRIDE serves deaf children ages 13 through 21 through cultural enrichment, self-esteem development and peer group interaction activities. SILENT PRIDE also provides educational workshops and networking activities for the parents of deaf children.
MISSION: to provide opportunities for peer interaction and personal development for deaf teenagers. Participants are provided opprotunities to interact and develop relationships with deaf children from various schools.

  • Help your child learn to read and remember what they read. This website will help you compile a list of books for your children to read. When the child is done with a book, questions can be found on the website to help test the child about what was read. There is a log in for the children, parents and teacher.
   
 

"Growing Up In Today's World." Scholarship

The Optimist International is offering an opportunity for students, enrolled in middle or high school, 19 years of age or younger who are deaf or hard of hearing, to earn a scholarship of $1500.
The Georgia District will conduct both a signing and oral contest this year on the theme "Growing Up In Today's World."
No previous Optimist scholarship winner is eligible to enter. Contestant will present copy of text typewritten, double-spaced and identified with contestant's name on cover page only.
