Educator Preparation Presentation
Panelists: CEHD faculty members Janice Fournillier, Joyce King and Brian Williams
- Janice Fournillier will speak to various ways in which the methodologies allow for the issues to be studied and the challenges of doing research and being an activist.
- Joyce King will present examples of her pedagogy and using testimonials, will demonstrate how students report reaching new levels of critical consciousness about racial-social-justice in her courses.
- Brian Williams will provide examples of the ways he creates critical spaces for teachers to reflect on their beliefs, make shifts of consciousness, and accommodate new perspectives on equity and justice in education.
The Professional Development Wednesdays Speaker Series offers workshops, forums and talks on a range of topics aimed at the college’s faculty, staff and students. Educator Preparation presentations are held on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 12 p.m. in College of Education and Human Development room 1030.
