Kristy (McGhee) Girardeau has been honored by the National Council of Teachers of English as one of six national recipients of the 2012 NCTE Early Career Educator of Color Leadership Award. Mrs. Girardeau graduated from GSU in May 2011 with a BSE in Early Childhood Education and is qualified in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. She is currently teaching 1st grade at Mount Olive Elementary School, East Point, Georgia.
