Bio

Dr. Caitlin McMunn Dooley conducts research related to literacy development, teacher education, learning, and the value of diversity. Her research has appeared in peer-reviewed journals and books published by the National Council of Teachers of English, the International Reading Association, Sage Publishers, and the American Educational Studies Association. Caitlin teaches courses related to literacy instruction and learning to pre-service teachers and graduate students. She is the recipient of the Outstanding Dissertation Award given by the Georgia Association of Teacher Educators (as well as a Distinguished Finalist in the International Reading Association and National Reading Conference awards). Prior to joining the ECE faculty in 2005, Caitlin taught teachers and children in urban schools for more than a decade.
