Bio
Dr. Hart's professional experience include teaching middle grades in Germany and Georgia; curriculum development at WICAT, Inc., in Utah, university work at the University of New Orleans and Kennesaw College in Georgia.
Dr. Hart has been on the faculty at Georgia State University since 1987. She is currently jointly appointed in the Department of Early Childhood Education and the Department of Mathematics. Her research is in the area of constructivist learning, the role of meta cognition in learning and teacher change. She has published in The Journal for Research in Mathematics Education, School Science & Math, NCTM Yearbooks, Teaching Children Mathematics, The Journal for Excellence in College Teaching and others. She is an active member in the AERA Special Interest Group: Research in Mathematics Education, the International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
