Bio
Dr. Reid brings a background in social services, parent involvement, and adult literacy to her work as an early childhood educator. Her teaching and research interests focus on early literacy particularly the impact of early intervention for diverse learners. She has been invited on numerous occasions to present at conferences and speak to faith-based organizations regarding issues related to early literacy learning.
Dr. Reid is a trainer of Reading Recovery teacher leaders at the Georgia State University Reading Recovery® and Literacy Collaborative® Training Center. She currently serves as a board member for the Southeastern Regional Reading Recovery Association and the Reading Recovery Council of North America. Dr. Reid is President-Elect for the Reading Recovery North American Trainer’s group. An advocate of learning from historical evidence, she has published an exploration of biographical research in the Columbus State University Prospectives in Learning journal and is one of the authors of A Site Coordinator’s Guide to the Effective Implementation of Reading Recovery.
