Georgia State’s College of Education will
offer the alternative certification program in the following areas:
early childhood education (preschool – 5th grade); middle
childhood (4th – 8th grade); secondary English, math, science,
and social studies (8th – 12th grade); special education (preschool
– 12th grade); and vocational education (8th – 12th
grade).
Students will enter the program during the summer term. Most students
will be eligible for an Intern certificate and could begin working
in the classroom at the beginning of the school year. At the end
of the first year of the program, most students will be eligible
to receive recommendation as a fully certified teacher.
