Department of Educational Psychology and Special Education adds to its name
The College of Education & Human Development’s Department of Educational Psychology and Special Education will add one of its major programs to its name, effective July 1, 2014.
Its new name, the Department of Educational Psychology, Special Education, and Communication Disorders, now reflects all three major program areas in its purview.
“The name is changing to give a presence to an important program that has been here all along,” said Laura Fredrick, department chair, about the change.
The Department of Educational Psychology, Special Education, and Communication Disorders offers graduate level degree programs that prepare students for several career paths, including speech-language pathology, teaching special education, research, evaluation and the applied practice of a number of disciplines.
