Assessment Plan for the Master of Professional Accountancy Program (MPA),  9/20/04

 

The mission of the Master of Professional Accountancy Program (MPA) degree program is to prepare students for professional careers in accounting. The MPA offers specializations in (1) Accounting Systems and (2) Financial Reporting and Assurance.

MPA Accounting Systems Specialization

 

The primary objectives of the Accounting Systems specialization are for students to develop and integrate: (1) skills for analyzing organizational performance that incorporate global and ethical dimensions, (2) skills in system development and evaluation, (3) skills for evaluating systems, (4) skills for collaborative work in teams, and (5) communication and technology skills.

The primary objectives of the Financial Reporting and Assurance specialization are for students to develop and integrate: (1) skills for analyzing organizational performance that incorporate global and ethical dimensions, (2) skills in financial reporting, (3) assurance skills, (4) skills for collaborative work in teams, and (5) communication and technology skills.

Continuous Improvement: Data will be collected each semester and will be reviewed annually during the fall semester by the MPA Coordinator and the Director of the School of Accountancy to inform the processes of 1) verifying consistency with program objectives, 2) identifying specialization strengths and weaknesses, and 3) proposing necessary modifications to courses and/or assessment methods.
