General = Education Learning Outcomes

Present: =  Joan Carson , Tim Crimmins, Harry Dangel, Bill Downs, Val Mil= ler, Sarah Pallas, George Pullman, George Rainbolt, Don Reitzes, and Marty Singer

 

The committee reviewed and discussed each subcommittee= ’s plan. There was consensus that not all sections of courses or all courses taught by a department in the core could be assessed. Rather, a sample of courses that was representative of what was required would be required to be assessed.

 

There was considerable discussion regarding how critic= al thinking differs across various disciplines. Because of this critical think= ing was divided into two sub-groups, humanities and sciences. Also, it was noted that plans for using laptops in a wireless environment to assess technology skills would need to be delayed until a proper classroom could be configured and equipped.

 

After extended discussion, all plans were approved.
