General Education Outcomes Assessment Procedures

  1. Each General Education outcome will be assessed by a faculty group drawn from departments which have identified that outcome as a substantive part of one or more of its core courses.  The chair of each group will serve as a member of the APACE Subcommittee on General Outcomes Assessment.

 

  1. Each General Education outcome will be defined/operationalized by the group charged with assessing that goal, and a plan for assessment of that outcome will then be developed according to the General Education Outcomes Assessment Plan template.

 

  1. Assessment plan proposals will be submitted to the APACE Subcommittee on General Outcomes Assessment for review and approval.

 

  1. The chair of each assessment group will submit an annual report to the APACE Subcommittee on General Outcomes Assessment at the end of each spring term.  The APACE Subcommittee on General Outcomes Assessment will review and forward these reports to APACE for approval.

 

  1. Once approved, the annual reports will be forwarded to the Provost by the Chair of APACE.

 

  1. Assessment plans and annual reports will be made available on a website hosted by The Center for Teaching and Learning.
