Comprehensive Exam
School Counseling students will take and pass the GACE Subject exam as a requirement to graduate. Please register for this GACE exam on the official GACE website. A copy of passing scores must be submitted to the School Counseling program director along with a GACE score submission form. This form can be found on the CPS website under current students, forms. The School Counseling program director will forward the scores to the Office of Academic Assistance prior to graduation. Scores must be submited before graduation.
School Psychology students will take and pass the their PRAXIS II Subject exam as a requirement to graduate. Please register for this exam on the official PRAXIS website. A copy of passing scores must be submitted to a School Psychology faculty member along with a Praxis score submission form. This form can be found on the CPS website under current students, forms. The School Psychology faculty member will forward the scores to the Office of Academic Assistance prior to graduation. Scores must be submited before graduation.
Professional Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling students must take and pass the CPS Comprehensive Exam as a requirement to graduate. Students may only take the Comprehensive Exam ONE TIME PER SEMESTER per College of Education Policy (see the Graduate Catalog 2007-2008, page 212). Students must submit an application to take the CPS Comprehensive Exam. Application deadlines are listed below. No late applications will be accepted. You may download an application below.
The comprehensive exam for professional and rehabilitation counseling students will be held on the downtown GSU campus.
To apply to take the CPS Comprehensive Exam, please fill out the Comprehensive Exam Form application and submit it to Annette Johnson at: cpsahj@langate.gsu.edu.
