Major Areas of Interest
Language and literacy development of deaf children, cognitive and language development across the life-span, early childhood education. Recent research has focused on the development of an emergent literacy intervention of deaf children and research on word learning abilities of preschoolers. She is the Principal Investigator of an Institute of Education Sciences (US Department of Education) funded grant Improving Deaf Preschoolers' Literacy Skill and is co-Training Director of the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) Post-Doctoral Research Training in Language and Literacy with Special Populations Program.
