Major Areas of Interest
My research interests lie in the areas of word reading knowledge of children and adults who read below the fifth grade level, in instructional methods for teaching adults who have reading difficulties, and in health literacy and women. I am the Associate Director of the Coalition for the Study of Adult Literacy and I moderate the National Institute of Literacy's Poverty, Race, Women and Literacy Discussion List.
