With the help of her canine companion, an assistant professor is inspiring kids to learn new tricks

In a typical classroom environment, where it might be tough to get students motivated, Laura Meyers, an assistant professor in the Department of Early Childhood Education, is barking up the right tree. Teaming with her therapy dog, Sullivan, Meyers uses his good looks and well-bred charm – as well as her own people smarts – to spark new teaching styles that promote real-world applications across the curriculum.
