Professional Educators Induction Seminar 2014 @ Georgia State University Speakers Auditorium

The college’s annual Professional Educators Induction Seminar will take place on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Georgia State University Speakers Auditorium (44 Courtland St., Atlanta).

This event will feature a number of presentations geared toward working in education, including professional ethics for educators, recommendations for making the most out of career fairs and tips on how teacher candidates can best convey their qualifications to potential employers. Human resources representatives from local school systems will be in attendance and may remain about 30 minutes following the seminar to answer questions. Professional dress is recommended.


Birth Through Five Job Fair @ House/Senate Salon, Georgia State University Student Center

The College of Education’s annual Birth Through Five Job Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, from 2-4 p.m. in the House/Senate Salon in Georgia State University’s Student Center (44 Courtland Street, Atlanta).

Students and faculty in the Birth Through Five program will have the opportunity to informally meet representatives from various early childhood centers and agencies.

National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association Job Fair, Career Awareness and Opportunities Abroad Panel @ College of Education, rooms 150 and 1030

Georgia State’s chapter of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association will host the Job Fair, Career Awareness and Opportunities Abroad Panel on Thursday, April 16, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in College of Education rooms 150 and 1030.

In room 150, will be representatives from local school districts, private practices and other companies who are looking to hire speech-language pathologists, general education teachers, special education teachers, deaf education teachers, PT and OT professionals and school psychologists. The panel discussion on international opportunities for speech-language pathologists will take place in room 1030.

Coffee for Charity @ Ebrik Coffee Room

The College of Education’s Student Affiliates for School Psychology (SASP) have teamed up with Ebrik Coffee Room to host Coffee for Charity, an exciting fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta.

Next Thursday, April 23, 2015, Ebrik will donate 15 percent of its proceeds from noon to 4 p.m. to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta.

Education Career Fair 2015 @ Dahlberg Hall

The 2015 Education Career Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, from 4-7 p.m. in Dahlberg Hall.

The career fair, hosted by the College of Education and Georgia State University Career Services, invites current Georgia State students and alumni to meet with representatives from various school systems in Georgia and other states. County school systems currently registered to attend include Cherokee, Clarke, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Houston and Newton counties.

Representatives from specific schools and businesses will also be in attendance, including National Heritage Academies, the Charter School Substitute Teacher Network and Ombudsman Educational Services.
