Dr. Brenda Pitts has been awarded the Diversity Award for "recognition of your teaching, scholarship, and service to diversity in sport" from the Diversity Committee of the North American Society for Sport Management and was presented the award while at the conference May 23-27, 2012.
Recently, the first global association in Sport Management was finalized and Dr. Brenda Pitts has been a working member of the Founding Team. The new organization is the World Association for Sport Management (WASM) and was formalized in Taipei, Taiwan during meetings held during the 2012 Global Sport Management Summit, April 25-29, 2012. In addition, Dr. Pitts will be on the inaugural committee that will develop a conference and a journal for WASM. Dr. Pitts received a "2012 Global Sport Management Summit Certificate of Gratitude" for her "wonderful speech and great contributions to the global academic development of sport management" from the 2012 Global Sport Management Organizing Committee of Aletheia University while at the conference April 25-29, 2012.
Dr. Benda Pitts, with co-researcher Dr. Doris Lu-Anderson from California State University at Long Beach, delivered the following presentation at the annual conference of the North American Society for Sport Management, May 23-27, 2012, in Seattle, Washington: "Theory into practice: Social media's new 'Communication Relationship Marketing' (CoRM) Model - Application in the sport business industry."
Dr. Brenda Pitts delivered a Keynote Address as part of a Keynote Panel at the 2nd Sport Management Summit in Taipei, Taiwan, April 25-29, 2012. The title was: "Fostering New Possibilities for Research & Scholarship In: An International Community of Sport Management Scholars and Students."
