Program Details
Twenty (20) Teacher Residents:
- Ten (10) Teacher residents in Special Education (Elementary, Middle, or High School), and
- Ten (10) Teacher residents in Mathematics or Science (Middle or High School)
- Alternating years for mathematics and science (beginning with Mathematics, 2010 and followed by Science, 2011)
Teacher Residents:
- are paid a living stipend = $25,000 through the school district in which they are a teacher resident
- are ensured a job with that school district in a high-need school when the Teacher Residency Program is completed
- will be accepted into the appropriate Georgia State University (GSU) teacher training programs where after 18 months will earn, upon completion of program requirements, a teaching certification
- will receive infusion of Special Education, ELL strategies, technology, and literacy across the content areas in their GSU teacher training courses
- are placed for a full year with a qualified mentor teacher in a high-need school in their area of study
- will be provided continued induction through professional development after completion of program
- must commit to a three-year service obligation at a high-need school in one of the following subject areas: Mathematics, or Special Education
- are encouraged to apply and should be deemed eligible for TEACH scholarships to pay for tuition at Georgia State University
Minimum Eligibility:
Applicants for the NET-Q Teacher Residency program must:
- Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or be a permanent resident
- Must meet GSU application requirements*

- In addition to the GSU application requirements, NET-Q Teacher Resident applicants must:
- Have a minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA
- Minimum combined GRE score of 800
- Complete an additional application questionnaire
