Information for educators

AAFT is an annual program that is held on the campus of Georgia State University. 
We are looking for rising juniors and seniors who are interested in a career in education.  Throughout the program students will collaborate with university professors and master K-12 teachers to improve their teaching, presentation, and leadership skills. 
Summary of the curriculum that guides AAFT

  • All content is based in science and math
  • All Science and math content is guided by Georgia Performance Standards
  • Every class is led by a team consisting of a GSU Professor with an outstanding K-12 Teacher.
  • Emphasis on critical and logical thinking skills
  • Active, hands-on learning
  • Pedagogy is always in focus
  • Teachers model an effective instructional practice style, discuss how it was used, then students prepare their own lesson and teach it

AAFT is free of charge and participants receive a $200 stipend, a Marta card and lunch for the duration of the program.
